About Stories Credits

The internet is infected. A virus has corrupted the network from under our noses and slowly taken over our screens. This virus is no malware, no infiltration of a firewall. Post-capitalist ideals have taken our beloved web and turned it into a monopoly for their own gain. A war is being waged on the mainstream internet. The prize? Your money and your attention.

The indie web encourages us to return to our roots and construct "homes" on the internet: places of personal expression and creative freedom. There is another way. Welcome to the resistance.

User-submitted stories: "Having online communities created a fun escape from difficult moments in my real life and I still maintain close friendships with some friends I made online as a teenager." "I don't think it's the web itself, as a thing with sentience, but the people who used it to share express, and comfort, who brought life through it." "I think the internet is more of a tool and can be used by the individual. This is both a powerful thing or good and bad."
